Belarusian legal entities may now receive cash foreign currency from non-residents in respect of imports

The Government and the National Bank have adopted Resolution No. 624/25 of 10 November 2025, which introduces amendments to the rules on obtaining foreign currency in cash.

Resident legal entities of Belarus may now receive foreign currency in cash (US dollars, euros, Chinese yuan) from non-residents under foreign trade transactions not only in the context of exports, but also in the context of imports.

Previously, this possibility existed only for export operations.

What should be done with the currency received?

If the currency is received outside Belarus, it must be credited to the resident’s account with a bank in the Republic of Belarus before the expiry of the repatriation period.

If the currency is received within the territory of Belarus or imported from abroad, it must be delivered to the legal entity’s cash desk, to cash collection service employees, or to the Belarusian bank servicing the company.

The changes simplify the handling of cash foreign currency for Belarusian companies and open up additional opportunities for foreign economic activity.

The new rules enter into force today, 13 November 2025, and will remain in effect until 31 December 2026.
