On June 6th, Decree No. 226 “On Gambling Business Activities” was signed, which will comprehensively regulate the activities of gambling organizers.
Main Innovations of the Decree:
- Registration of participants is allowed only with a personal visit to the gambling establishment or through a video session over the Internet.
- The period for storing video recordings from surveillance cameras in gambling establishments has been extended from 30 to 60 days.
- Gaming machines that have been in use for more than 10 years may continue to be used, provided that their compliance with registered models is confirmed.
- Player restrictions:
- It is prohibited to have more than one account;
- It is prohibited to participate in a game at the instruction of third parties.
- Cryptocurrency betting and payouts are allowed only through High-Tech Park residents (cryptocurrency platform operators or exchangers) by selling cryptocurrency for fiat and then depositing these funds into the same client’s account registered with the gambling organizer.
- Gambling organizers are prohibited from providing electronic cards, money, or other means of payment if visitors do not have the required amount.
- Banks and financial institutions are prohibited from transferring funds from individuals to foreign gambling organizers.
- A mechanism has been established to identify the ownership of funds by individuals for their participation in gambling activities.
